Metal accounting in the bending section of the multi-faceted posts in the SteelTrace system allows to control: the release of the strip, removal of the strip residue, the production and the marking of the billet for the multi-faceted posts, the working hours of the operator, control of the defects and technological residue. In order to do the accounting nearby the mill a stationary Steel Trace system terminal is installed. We recommend the TracePoint 150 model. One stationary terminal can serve up to 4 mills at the same time.
The trace cycle starts with the installation of the strip on the uncoiling machine. After placing the strip material on the uncoiling machine, the operator is cutting off the lower part of the identifying strip tag and is scanning the bar code from the label using the scanner build in the stationary terminal.
The established measurement types of the strip and the parameters of the production task are displayed on the stationary terminal.
When the multi-faceted post is removed from the bending machine the operator is approaching the stationary terminal to print the tag. The tag is attached with a brace clip, which is placed inside the multifaceted post.
Steel Trace takes into account the amount in meters and tones of the strip that was used for the production of the multifaceted post, as well as the time used for the execution of the operation that allows to distribute for the operation the indirect costs such as electrical energy and water consumption.
The welding of the multifaceted post
On the welding area of the multifaceted posts is fixed an identifier installed on the welding mill of the post, the installation time of the post and the duration of the execution of the technological operation. The operations are taken into account in the section of the welding team and the machine operator.
We also recommend to take into consideration the technological parameters of the process, for example the wind of the weld. For this the stationary terminal is equipped with a port that allows the connection to the mill.
The assembling of the multifaceted posts
The assembling operation of the multifaceted posts assumes the accounting of the used accessories within the amount and time of the execution.
It is necessary to organize the process so that all the accessories will move throughout the production department in containers. Each container should include the same kind of parts from the same consignment. Containers are marked with tags, which are placed inside the container or are attached with a clip to the container walls.
The staff involved in the assembling process is getting from the container the needed parts to execute the operation. The tags of those containers, from which the worker gets the parts are identified on the stationary terminal, in such a way considering the application of the required parts for the operation and the duration of the operational process.
For the storage of the accessories we recommend to use the containers equipped with wells. As it is shown on the sketch below:
When the assembling operation is completed the worker approaches the stationary terminal and presses the tag print button for the assembled product. After printing the tag the information about the completed assembling operation, the execution time, used parts and the quantity of the resulted finished product is transferred to 1C.
